Avera Human Performance Center Memberships Offer Wide Range of Opportunities
The new Avera Human Performance Center offers memberships to individuals and families with fitness and improved performance on their agenda.
The facility, which opened Jan. 6, is part of the Avera on Louise Health Campus and home to Avera Sports Medicine and Orthopedics and the Avera Therapy programs. From equipment to amenities, the site offers robust choices for training, exercise and fitness.
“Anyone who has an interest in improving their overall health, from novice athletes to professionals, can achieve their goals with a membership,” said Jason Askew, Executive Director, Avera Sports Medicine. “We can help people training for their first 5K or marathon, help triathletes improve their times and our acceleration program helps improve speed and quickness for athletes ages 10 and older.”
Membership will allow access to the Athletic Republic Acceleration Area which includes strength and cardio equipment, the acceleration-training area and cycling studio as well as small-group fitness classrooms.
In addition, the facility includes sprint lanes, TRX, small turf space, locker rooms and an athletic training recovery room.
The Human Performance Center is open 5 a.m.–9 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Saturdays and noon–5 p.m. Sundays. Individual, couple and family memberships are available in three- and six-month packages, as well as annual memberships. All-access membership prices start from about $80 per month for individuals and all are available in various durations.
Single-month trial memberships and 10-visit “punch passes” also are available.
“Punch passes are a good way to try us out, and they allow access to cardio/strength areas as well as small group training sessions and classes,” Askew said. “Members will enjoy the benefits that now come with unlimited training. It allows athletes and families to pick their schedule and take part in multiple training options each day. Whatever the athlete’s needs are, we can address them.”
The facility features leading-edge brands and equipment, such as the Hydroworx underwater treadmills, Alter-G anti-gravity treadmills and a full line of cardiovascular, strength and Athletic Republic equipment. Certified athletic trainers can offer post workout services, assess injuries and apply preventive taping as needed.
For additional fees, members can take part in 3-D gait assessment and other biomechanical and physiological evaluations.
