Avera St. Mary’s Named Top 20 Rural Community Hospital
Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre was recently named one of the Top 20 Rural Community Hospitals in the country.
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) has announced the 20 highest-ranked prospective payment system hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by The Chartis Center for Rural Health using iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index. These rural community hospitals will be recognized in an awards ceremony during NRHA’s Rural Hospital Innovation Summit May 9 in Atlanta.
The determining factors for the top 20 rural community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charge, and financial stability.
“Avera St. Mary’s is proud of the efforts of its physicians and staff who have contributed to our hospital achieving this designation,” says President and Chief Medical Officer Mikel Holland, MD. “Our recognition as a top health care provider means our community can count on us to deliver the services they need now and in the future.”
