Avera Medical Group Radiology provides diagnostic and therapeutic subspecialty radiology and imaging services to hospitals and clinics across the region. With over 20 board-certified physicians on staff, our broad range of services includes Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology, PET/CT Scans, Neuroradiology, Pediatric Radiology and Teleradiology. Our imaging center is located on the campus of Avera McKennan Hospital & University Health Center.

Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic Imaging is critical in helping physicians detect and classify various diseases or conditions within the body. Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology (IR) is a subspecialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using image guidance. Many procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis. Physicians performing IR procedures use small needles or catheters guided by real-time imaging to diagnose or treat a particular condition inside the body. Patients can also have outpatient consultations and venous procedures at Avera Veradia Vein Center.

Neuroradiology

The neuroradiologists at Avera Radiology are experts at medical imaging of the brain, spine, head and neck. We work closely with neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, as well as primary care physicians. We also perform image-guided procedures to treat back and neck pain, vertebral compression fractures and brain aneurysms, employing the most recent technical advances and equipment.

Teleradiology

Avera Radiology provides round-the-clock radiology coverage to many areas via Teleradiology. The service assists physicians in providing rapid treatment to injured and critically ill patients. In addition to Sioux Falls locations, Avera Radiology provides services to numerous sites:
