Construction Alert: Emergency Dept Entry Changed

Due to construction work in the emergency department, patients and visitors must use the entrance on the north side of the hospital along East Adams Street to gain access to emergency services. Parking is available in the lot at the intersection of East Adams Street and North Third Street. Signage and barricades will be on site to help guide patients and visitors.

Our Birthing and Women's Center

Our care team at the Avera Women's Center in O'Neill includes a number of board-certified obstetrics providers, and each works with dozens of mothers each year to bring new life into the world with safety and joy.

In addition, we have several specially trained registered nurses with vast experience in obstetrics. Many also are certified lactation nurses, so they can ensure you and your newborn begin your family journey with the support you need.

Upon arrival to the Women's Center, you will be placed in one of our state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms.

Our rooms feature an HD TV, private bathroom, a storage cabinet with plenty of space for your belongings, as well as a recliner for your support person.

Your infant will be placed in one of our bassinets during their stay. Infants must be transported to and from the nursery in the bassinet. For safety and security reasons, infants are never to be carried in the hallways.

Oncology Services, Orthopedic Experts and Surgical Care

Public Transportation Service

Avera St. Anthony's Hospital Transportation System is coordinated through the hospital's Social Services Department. Rides are provided Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. within the city of ONeill, NE, and out of town as scheduled or needed. While preference is given to elderly and disabled persons, it is available to the general public as time, drivers and vehicle availability allow. Call 402-336-5134 to schedule rides. Avera St. Anthony's Hospital, a 25-bed hospital in O'Neill, NE, was originally established in 1952 as St. Anthony's Hospital. The Sisters of St. Francis expanded the town's Doctors Brown and French Hospital via a fund drive with prominent local support. An addition was completed in 1975 and in 1989, the Hospital Board expanded to involve the community more to develop funding for expansion.
