About Me

Before pursuing a career in midwifery, Nicole Johnson, CNM, supported women as a doula, childbirth educator and lactation counselor for 16 years. Not only did she enjoy working with expecting families, but the birth of her second child with Avera midwives sealed her decision.

“It was an amazing and empowering experience that gave me the peace and confidence in myself as a mother,” said Nicole.

Today, she serves as a nurse midwife at Avera Medical Group Certified Nurse Midwifery Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, SD.

Expert Care in Nurse Midwifery

Nicole provides a variety of services to support women, from their childbearing years through the changes of menopause. Her obstetric and gynecology care includes well-woman exams, prenatal care and labor and delivery.

Natural Birth Class

Nicole is passionate about natural birth. She organized a workshop that teaches natural birth basics to help women and their partners learn comfort measures for pregnancy, labor and birth.

Active Lifestyle

Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Together, they love a great puzzle or game, or heading outside to hike and camp as much as the weather allows.
