About Me

Dr. J.D. Ries graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He continued his education at Pacific University College of Optometry and earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 1996. Dr. J.D. is a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and has served as president of the Southwest Minnesota Optometric Society.

He began working at Heartland Eyecare Center in 1998 and took over ownership in 2001 with his wife, Dr. Renae Ries. Dr. J.D. enjoys all outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, and playing sports with his family.
