About Me

David Ermer, MD, is an expert in child and adolescent psychiatry at Avera Medical Group Behavioral Health in Sioux Falls, SD. He’s passionate about helping individuals when they’re younger to better prevent issues arising in adulthood.

Expert Care in Child Psychiatry

Dr. Ermer cares for a wide variety of behavioral and mental health concerns in kids and teens. Some of these conditions include autism, depression and anxiety.

“You want the child or teen to have some say in the treatment,” explained Dr. Ermer, as to how children and teens can feel empowered in their healing. “It’s especially important to spend time explaining their treatment so they feel involved in the process.”

In addition, Dr. Ermer is interested in how genetics influence mental health and utilized in treatment and prevention.
