Dr. Lopez specializes in caring for newborns who arrive prematurely or with health issues that need increased attention. She diagnoses and treats a wide variety of conditions in newborns and specializes in chronic lung diseases.
In addition, she also offers lactation advice and encouragement to moms with babies in the NICU. “As a mom myself, I know how challenging it can be,” she says. “It’s an area where moms need a lot of support. I’m happy to provide that and help them connect with their babies.”
Dr. Lopez also enjoys providing care in Avera McKennan’s state-of-the-art NICU, which features the latest in technology and comfort for the newborns and their families. “It’s absolutely beautiful and I look forward to working there every day,” she says.
