Your family will benefit from experienced pediatric care providers at this location who focus on primary care. They can also connect you to many other pediatric specialists such as allergy and immunology, behavioral health, cardiac care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatal intensive care, orthopedics, primary care and more.
Pediatric Primary Care
Pediatricians and their care teams see healthy kids as they grow and develop, as well as children with medically complicated conditions. These doctors are also ready to support and educate parents along the way. They have in-depth knowledge on many conditions or illnesses that children face. Pediatricians also work with other providers as an integrated team, bringing parents great, well-rounded options for care.
Yearly Checkups
Yearly checkups for your child are important checks for their physical, mental or emotional health. During this annual doctor’s visit, you and your provider might discuss your:
- Current health status
- Immunizations
- Health history
- Potential health risks
- Preventive screenings you may need
- Personal health goals
- Current prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins or minerals you’re taking
This appointment is also the time to bring up any concerns or changes you’ve noticed so that your provider can help you take the next steps in care. This child checkup can also count as a sports physical, but a physical is not a substitute for a checkup.
Many health insurance plans cover one yearly checkup. Contact your insurance provider to learn what’s available to you.
Sports Physicals
Getting a sports physical is often required of athletes before the season begins. Many pediatricians are trained in assessing and establishing a baseline in athletic physical health. If an injury occurs, the physical can help navigate progress during recovery.
Immunizations
Staying up to date on your immunizations is an important step you can take to prevent illness. Your pediatrician can inform you of what vaccines your child needs, and when planned ahead of time, can easily be completed in your yearly checkup.
Many health insurance plans cover some immunizations. Contact your insurance provider to learn what’s available to you.

Avera QuickLabs
This location also offers Avera QuickLabs, which lets you quickly and confidentially order a variety of tests without a doctor’s order. These tests help you monitor ongoing risks — such as complete blood count, glucose, lipids or hemoglobin — but shouldn’t be a replacement for the personalized care of your primary care provider.
