Headache and Migraine Care

We care for patients with the entire spectrum of headaches, from new onset headaches to chronic, longstanding migraines. Headache care involves counseling on migraine triggers, traditional medical options and access to emerging therapies. Treatments range from advanced therapies to lifestyle changes, and may include medical screenings, medications, injections or infusions, BOTOX®, exercise and diet, stress reduction, sleep modifications and avoidance of headache triggers.

Specialized ALS Care

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neuromuscular disease that attacks motor neurons. This causes progressive paralysis and impacts walking, communication and eating. Our specialists diagnose and care for ALS patients and strive to maintain a patient’s muscle function and ability to perform the daily activities of life.

Multiple Sclerosis Care

We offer quality care in multiple sclerosis (MS). One of the first in the region, our innovative clinic represents a collaborative partnership between our neurology clinic, the Avera Brain & Spine Institute and dedicated experts in MS care.

Deep Brain Stimulation Service

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a safe and effective surgical procedure that can help transform the lives of people experiencing debilitating symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor. By stimulating specific areas of the brain, DBS can manage some of the most disabling motor symptoms, allowing people to live and work longer.

Autonomic Testing Lab

We offer the region's only autonomic testing lab (ATL) which houses sophisticated medical equipment to diagnose and treat autonomic nervous system disorders. These conditions can impact heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, bowel and bladder function, and more. Having an autonomic dysfunction means that one or more of these processes in your body has been disrupted by an underlying illness.

Neuropsychological Testing

Neuropsychological examinations evaluate brain functions. For example, your provider might test your brain’s ability to understand, think and remember information. Family history is also documented. Results reveal your brain’s strengths and weaknesses, and can better direct diagnosis, treatment or further testing.

Laboratory

Right inside our facility, you have access to a wide range of laboratory services that contribute to accurate diagnoses of medical conditions. Expert specialists conduct safe and reliable lab testing, helping you and your provider get the results you need to start an effective and personalized treatment plan.
