Katrina Almeida, DPM, a podiatrist at Avera Orthopedics in Mitchell, SD, provides foot and ankle care for people of all ages.

Compassionate Care

As an athlete who started playing soccer at the age of 4, Dr. Almeida has experienced several ankle injuries throughout her life. She was inspired to pursue a career in podiatry after seeing how successful treatment allowed her to continue playing.

“The excellent care I received made me want to help people in the same way,” she says. “The best part of being a physician is seeing patients get better and go on to enjoy active lives.”

Dr. Almeida also speaks fluent Portuguese.

Active Lifestyle

In her free time, Dr. Almeida enjoys baking, cake decorating, being outdoors with her laborator retriever, biking, kayaking, hiking, playing soccer and snowboarding.
